Through my own study, work experience and personal interest I have found that ‘mindfulness’, the practice of being in the present moment without judgement, helps people’s psychological wellbeing. Furthermore, I have been investigating the positive effects of martial arts training on the mental health of its practitioners. In an article called ‘martial Arts and Mental Health’[1], we have surveyed a range of evidence which attests to the positive effects of martial arts training can have on psychological wellbeing.
